My son was a young 5 year old when he started school and I thought he was mature enough to attend. It turns out he did not behave maturely in class and the teacher feels it would be best to hold him back, so he is not behind in all his schooling going forward. How do I explain this to him when he is so excited to go to 1st grade with all his friends. I am worried the other kids will make fun of him for repeating kindergarten too....
