It is my understanding that the school will reject an IEP for dyslexia and won't even think of granting a 504 Plan to help the kids gain the skills they need to learn to read. During my meeting, they raved about my child and said spelling wasn't important. Teachers are looking at content and thought. They mentioned things like Spell Check and suggested I buy my child some books from their book fair! They really did! I have it on tape. If anyone has faced a similar situation, please let me know how you resolved things. Please don't tell me you just gave up. This is what they want you to do. I will never give up.
