However, she has a severe speech inpediment that has limited her ability to learn like other children. My problem is ...they are saying someone has to be home to get her off the bus. They are saying that is a federal rule. I tried looking that up but couldn't find anything on it. My daughter knows how to let herself in the house and knows to lock the door behind her. She also has access to a phone and knows all the phone #'s to call including 911. She is a very responsible 11 yr old. She is only alone for about 30 minutes until I can get there. At this point, I think she needs the independence. I don't see any reason for not be alone for 30 minutes a day after school. How can I convince them?
