GreatSchools: You know if your child should skip a grade, is there a test or help for us to get her where she belongs?

My daughter will be entering 3rd grade, but she is very advanced fro her age. She is at a 8th grade reading level, 6 grade science and understanding,6 grade problem sloving, and she is advanced with her math and personal skills also. She understands a lot of what is going on in the world, around her, and what will ahppen if one thing leads to another. At her previous school the principal and her main teacher told me to stop working with her. Then after she would get done with a project in class in half the time as everyone else, the teacher would tell her just to turn her paper over and draw. I would like fo rher to be alot more challenged and to make her feel like it is okay to be smart,
I would love tohave her tested or something for advancement into another grade if possible, but I am very timid about it because I don't like to be treated like I am doing something wrong. Ijust would love what's best for my daughter.
Thank you

Many states post their assessment test online (in all subject area). Take some of these asessment tests and you should have a good feeling where your child is.
