GreatSchools: What are the good middle and high schools not too far from Skokie, IL?

My family has to relocate to Chicago area (job transfer to Skokie). What are the good schools in the area (middle and high school), with a reasonable distance from Skokie? Our children are in private schools now, but we would also consider good public schools. We are going to rent, and the housing seems ridiculous in some areas around Skokie. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
