Olympia Community school is great. This is our son's second year there and he loves going to school every day! OCS is a small non-profit progressive independent elementary school. They really nurture kids curiosity and creativity. The class sizes are small (up to 14 kids), mixed grades, focus on collaboration, non-violent communication and community/environmnental awarenes. Kids get to learn from their teachers, but also through hands on activities, leading workshops, older/younger buddies, parent workshops, etc. The teachers are amazing too. It is parent administered, so there is a volunteer commitment, but definitely worth it.
