My brother actually attended Tahoma High School and there was a bit of a struggle not with the teachers but the counselor. He was on an EAP and needed constant supervision when it came to his school work. His teachers were really great at communicating with our family. We usually made the initial contact but we did receive timely responses from teachers and would then challenge my younger brother with his acedemic responsiblies (this communication was KEY to his graduating). The biggest delima for us was dealing with his counselor and making sure he was on target to graduate. She did not return phone calls or emails timely (weeks would go by). I understand that a person in that position has a hectic schedule but it should not have been that much of a struggle. When we were finally able to get down to business with the counselor there was tons of misinformation regarding target dates, credits needed, and alternative schooling options (to make up credits). Because of that we needed to meet multiple times through his senior year and had to go through the hoops of contacting his counselor again and again.
