St Matthew's Luthern Day School in Lake Ridge (Woodbridge) VA is ACES!
Its music program is phenomenal and in our experience its teachers are wonderful, amazing. You can select different schedules based on what your child is ready for. After our child’s 2-yr run at St Matt’s, we clearly saw the difference in our child’s preparedness for kindergarten compared to others entering at her school. We still are close friends with many of the children/parents from our child's classes there. If you use the time that your child will be in preschool for you to do work, it qualifies for a tax deduction (see your tax preparer for terms).

Lake Ridge Baptist Church has a great preschool called MDO (Mother's Day Out). They accept as early as 2 1/2 years old (by Sept 30), and have many classes. They have a waiting list, so get on as soon as your child is born. It's a co-op program to minimize cost, so you'll be expected to help in the older classes 4 times a year (per child). It's Tuesday-Thursday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. This school has provided both of my children with great training and preparation for kindergarten. I love it! It's very inexpensive compared to day care or private school. They are so committed to the children, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
