Parent Answers to "What's a great elementary school in Virginia Beach? What makes it great?"

This is a little late coming I guess, but I am new to the site. My son just finished 2nd grade at Kempsville Elementary. This was the only year that he attended this school, but we loved it. He transferred there part way through the year, and they made the transition very easy. Everyone at the school is very welcoming and warm. The teachers, all of the women that work in the office, and just everyone we have encountered. The school seems to be very organized from simple things like transportation to academics. Walking through the school it feels clean and safe like a school should be. There is lots of parent involvement and they make communication between parent and teacher very easy. So far we are very happy and we have also heard great things about Kempsville Middle ad High School. We are new to the area so I can't compare it to any other local elementary schools.
