Oh - I am also familiar with KVPAC, and they are awesome! Even if you don't choose their preschool, check out their other classes and summer program for ages 3 and up! Great prices and lots of fun! :-)
My daughter went to 2 preschools in Katy and I liked them both - the first was Little Ranch Preschool at Cinco Ranch Church of Christ (on Mason close to Westpark Tollroad). No wait list, teachers nurturing, small. Good for younger kids. Downside - no specials teachers. We switched to Crosspoint Christian School because Little Ranch was only open 2 days a week, and needed more for my daughter for PreK. Crosspoint is excellent. They usually have a wait list, but open enrollment day is fair. They also have great special programs that extend the day to 2:30pm and it's very flexible in regard to days/attendance. Start looking in Jan/Feb for the next school year starting in Sept. Open enrollment is usually in Feb. or March for most schools. Best of luck!
I spent a long time last year looking at preschools for my daughter. I found KVPAC (Katy Visual Performing Arts Center). It's on Mason by the Equestrian Center. I don't remember how I came across it. Most people have never heard of it. It is for ages 3-5. My daughter goes there this year and loves it! I'll be sending her next year also before she goes to kindergarden. The website it www.kvpac.org for more information. It's alot cheaper than all the other preschools in Katy (only $170 a month) and next year they have a 2,3 or 5 day program. My girls class only has 6 people in it which I love. They have 6 teachers and only allow 34 kids to register so register early. I'm so surprised how much she loves it and how much spanish she's learning. She's 4 and already can read some and is learning to write all her letters in school. I couldn't be happier!
