It depends on the area you live, but mainly, the schools over there are great!!

Gotta look at some Christian Schools in Houston. The city has a huge school district. 2 good school are Sugargrove Christian School and Westbury Christian School-- both good for elementary kids. Both have good programs for pre-school, too. WCS is much bigger and offers sports programs... SG does not. They both offer spanish, and some music and computer classes. The principals should be interviewed to get the real "feeling" of the school.

I would love for you to look at Bush Elementary or Shadowbriar Elementary. If your child is highly interested in grades and would choose studying a class book over studying something in fine arts then Bush Ele. is right for you. I say this because Bush has a wonderful academic program, but has no dance program and it wasn't exactly right for me. On the other hand I would recommend Shadowbriar for a more creative type of elementary student.
P.S. I know this from personal experience.

You can go to www.greatschools.net/city/Houston/TX , and will be able to compare the schools. It depends where you live, I used to live in the Cypress area and I was really happy with the challenging curriculum from the schools my daughters were at, I was able to tell that they were learning a lot.
