It is much simpler that here in California, almost the same procedures, provide a bill, a lease or rent, kids vaccinations, ID with picture, you will need this at all times, especially they won't let you to pick up your kids without your ID, or you wouldn't not be able to assist to your childs events at school if you don't go and show your ID, that is why I like the schools over there, they are very strict regarding this.
