Lakewood Elementary. There are four elementaries in the HEB school district of Euless. They are North Euless, South Euless, Midway Park, & Lakewood. My firstborn (now a freshman) went to N. Euless for pre-k, Midway Park for kindergarten & first grade, and stayed at Lakewood from 2nd grade til she graduated in the 6th. We loved the area, and though she was reluctant to move from her Midway friends that first year, she still says Lakewood was her favorite school. There is a great variety of programs available (such as the Core Knowledge curriculum and Suzuki Strings) and the teachers are all very supportive and creative in their methods of education.We were most enamored by the wonderful GT program offered (with an amazing instructor to boot) that always kept her challenged and on her toes. The extracurricular options are also quite broad for an elementary. My daughter spent all 3 of her older years in the school (4th-6th) juggling choir, drama club, and the broadcasting team--all of which she loved. She also participated in the academic extracurriculars available such as the Battle of the Books team, Whiz Quiz team, & occasional book clubs and other events that always seemed to flourish at the school. Lakewood has also been rated "Exemplary" by the TEA this year. Due to a recent move, my younger daughter is now a kindergartner at South Euless Elementary, and though we are satisfied with her education there, we would definately have to say the enviroment is not as enriching as the one we experienced in Lakewood.
