Eanes is the best or so it is always said. I have heard some great things about Lakeways school and it should be more affordable.
I am in Eanes and have had one school that was terrible as far as special needs support and one that is very good.
They do have outstanding programs for education with offerings far beyond what you would be able to recieve in private schools and a lot of other districts.
Farther out of Austin and Northwest is Leander ISD which is a great school district and has a lot of parent involvement. North of Austin Round Rock is another good district, especially for high school. South of Austin is Dripping Springs, which is another good school district. Lake Travis is also decent and is west of Austin. That's a lot to start with so you might want to find the area you want to pinpoint the general area you want to live in first and go from there.
Eanes by far, but you will pay a pretty penny to live there, next is AISD...is the other, there are some great schools within AISD.
