Having tried both, I HIGHLY recomend Glenforest school for children who qualify for Special Education in a public school.
Glenforest has allowed my son to experience success that he would otherwise not be allowed to even participate. He is active in Sports, Student Governement and has straight A's in this SACS acredited school.
There is still ground to cover in the IDEA law before public school special educaiton programs are held to a standard that allows all children to recieve a Free and Appropriate Public Education that allows them to go onto higher learning and/or indipendent living to their fullest potential.
My other two children fall into the general population and the thrive at Carolina Springs Middle school.
