Personally I have only had experience with Pfiffer Burliegh and McKinley. I have friends that have had their kids at Lincoln too. From this experience McKinley and Lincoln are very good schools. They have a zero tolerance policy for bullying. They work with parents with issues brought to hand. They work with Parents who have disabled children very well. Communication is important.
T McKinley they even have parent work shops and fundraisers and PTA. There is a program called Champs after school that encourages academics and good social health in the community. The school participates in hooked on books and they even do the best they can in trying to accommodate if your child has a different religious background. Say for example not observing Christmas due to being another religion. The key there is talking with the school politely and working with them on the subject.
As far as what I have heard about Lincoln I have heard they have an excellent support staff wonderful down to earth teachers and they offer similar activities for the children same as McKinley. Pfieffer Burliegh isn't't a bad school but its not one I would send my kids to. I went to school there and it was tough then now things have become tougher. I haven't had recent experience with them though.
The charter schools are good too because they have smaller classroom ratios and that's more one on one time. The private schools are good if you can afford them.
I guess it just boils down too where you live because there's not an open enrollment option in Erie. There is only one way to go another school. That has to do with problems. If the child is getting picked on, if the child is in danger, legal problems etc. If you find a good school and want your child to go there you gotta get in the neighborhood the school is in.
