My kids attended NW Montessori. We chose the Tigard location at the base of Bull Mtn but there are 5 locations. The Montessori program gave my kids a huge head start in life. My almost Freshman went through kindergarten and my now almost 6th grader as well. This is not a glorified daycare but a very school like atmosphere. Both excel currently in reading as they had such a great start and a low ratio for teacher per student. The other amazing fact with Montessori is they teach life skills in pre-school. Very useful from making snacks for the class, to serving, to cleaning, to learning how to handle a baby (doll), emphasis on sharing, creating and advancing at their own level. Call Denise (if she is still there) at NW Montessori. To this day we stay in contact with teachers.
