I choose private schools and have sacrificed buying new cars etc. to pay for them. I found high dedication from the teachers and the parents are directly involved in discussions and policy changes. Also there were many unusual opportunities, especially at Maumee Valley. You may qualified for a "voucher " to help pay for tuition if your district is deemed undesirable. Check with a private school in your area and they will be able to help you. They can also let you know if they can place your child. Many of them have smaller classes that are appropriate for your child. Try some of the parochial schools as they may have a mission to help a child with special needs. I am very grateful for the opportunity my children have been blessed to receive at their schools.
Private schools are not the best education, that is an unfortunate perception among communities. The public high school my child is in has more teachers with Phd's than most of the high schools in the area including private. We can afford to send my child to a private school, we chose public. Harvard Elementary is located in South Toledo and is an excellent school; parental involvement is high, which is key.
I would like to switch from private to public, but want the best possible for my son with ADHD...our existing district is unacceptable! Where is Harvard Elementary
The private schools have the best education. They are very expensive,I would love to send mine to private, but cannot. My child is in the best public school, which is Harvard Elementary.
