The YMCA on Valleyview actually has a wonderful preschool program. Two great teachers, learning letters, phonics, numbers, days, months, colors, shapes, as well as plenty of creative activities. They have homework, and they are noted for their good achievements, helping to build a child's self esteem and encourage learning. My daughter's class also does swim lessons once a week at the end of the school day. They take a field trip at least once a month, ranging from an apple orchard, to COSI, to the zoo, to the circus! This month they actually get to go to a pizza place's kitchen, to learn about how they do things and help make their own pizza! They encourage parent involvement. They have individual parent/teacher meetings to discuss how your child is doing, and also do group meetings with all the parents at once to meet and discuss their children. Also, sending my daughter here, I take advantage of all the other program for her. She has had the opportunity to do pre-ballet, and tumbling gymnastics. It's amazing all they have to offer. Best thing I ever did for my daughter.
