Thanks for that info. I currently live in Wilmington, NC am interested in learning more about the Charlotte area. My husband was in the city on business and LOVED it, and since I don't love it here I am trying to do some online research about the different suburbs and school districts. I have NO idea as to what areas I should be looking at, since I haven't been there myself. Can anyone tell me some popular family oriented towns to research with good schools for my family with 4 young boys??? Thanks SO much for your advice!!!

I am bitterly disappointed in the TD and Magnet Schools. All the ones that are closest to me aren't zoned for my area. Plus there aren't any at all in my area. Instead the only ones that are zoned are poorly graded and in unsafe areas. Sorry, I don't want my kid in a crime ridden area! Thankfully the schools around me are adequate but unforunately not what my child needs.

The disparity of the quality of education among the public schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg is atrocious! The choice program is a riot. If you want your child to attend an acceptable school, RUN, RUN, RUN to the suburbs - move as far north or south in the county, as you can.
