I got lucky with my first son I reluctantly signed up my child for his zone public school, a little late in the game(around May) but luckily got on a waiting list which made me nervous to say the least. by the second week of October he got in to The Foresight School, to the afternoon program. At the time(6 years ago) it was the most wonderful school around. I'm not too sure how it is now, but it was a wonderful experience for the two of us.
Word of mouth is the best way..take tours of every place you consider (see if you can do it at the spur of the moment to catch them off guard rather than during just open houses) because what you see may not be what ppl tell you. Also remember every mom thinks their child is brilliant so don't be so willing to shell out the big bucks for the 'intense learning school' your child will thrive when they are having fun.
My first and foremost concern was safety. Next was cleanliness and a bright and cheerful place to play. We found that and more at Castleton Hill Moravian Preschool. Warm, nuturing environment, weekly music sessions, fantastic new playground, caring staff and most of all....lots of fun for the kids!
