I have had awful experience with my child in this area. John Adams High School has their good points with the fact that they do work with you if you need special education. They offer a wide selection of sports. However, I find it disturbing that children do get harassed a lot in this school, especially if the child is gay or lesbian. Teachers haven't been given the tools to deal with this kind of behavior in class, so they look the other way. I find them sadly lacking. I would love to see the school give the teachers some workshops regarding this growing issue? My son has had countless experiences where he has been targeted in school, had things stolen from his locker, and will have to deal with uncompassionate teachers who just don't want to or can't be bothered. Not to mention the large amount of gang activity that goes on there. I would tell any parent to get their child into another school as soon as possible.
