Some of the magnet and charter schools offer great educations. Some of the private schools do too. Not all charter, and private schools are top notch. You have to look at each individually.

What about Charter schools? My son goes to Charter School for Applied Technology and I feel like we are getting private school ethics for public school prices (FREE). He wears a uniform and is learning to read. He does very well academically.
