Española by far has a good reputation. They have an inept superintendent. Poor funding for classrooms and technology. The School board is inept at anything remotely related education. The School board instead uses district money to fund trips to Florida or Washington D.C. for themselves. Los Alamos Public Schools (www.laschools.net/laschools/site/default.asp) is a great school district with a excellent staff and School board. Funding for all classes and computer equipment is abroad. The buildings are very old, but Los Alamos just recently passed a bond to repair all the schools in the district to New Mexico standards. In my opinion Los Alamos is the best school district in the Española area and the best choice for your child to excel in all academics.
