Hawthorne, NJ is in Passaic County. Hawthorne district borders Wyckoff, Ridgewood, North Haledon, Paterson, Fair Lawn. Try to compare Hawthorne schools with Wyckoff, Ridgewood and North Haledon. You will clearly see which school district is best by their NJ ASk test score comparrison. Do it before you move to Hawthorne. My experience, my whole life, has not been so great with Hawthorne schools. Especially special education for language disabled students. No phonemic, multisensory reading programs.
