My son went to, and now my daughter goes to, the St. Louis Children's Hospital Child Development Center (on Newstead, near Barnes). Love it. Great, caring staff.

The St. Louis Public Schools have several pre-schools that are fantastic. My preference is Stix. It was close to my home and my child could start there at age 3. I can't remember the exact method of teaching but basically, it's hands on learning. The learning by doing method. If you live in the South portion of the city there are other pre-schools within the district as well. What many people don't realize, the St. Louis public schools have great elementry schools (not all but many to choose from). Where the district fall behind is in the middle and high school levels.
