Well, our St. Louis City Public Schools lost their state accreditation last year if that tells you anything. Some of the charter schools within the city limits are good, but they aren't really regulated and don't have enough accountability (can you say "Wall Street"?) to anyone. The private and parochial schools have always maintained high standards, but also high tuition rates to go with them. Good luck.
