my girls have had an increase in their grades and have made friends here...the teachers really seem to care about the kids and are willing to put forth that little extra to help when needed.
But there was an incident the other day that still has me a bit on the irritated side...
Normally I will talk with a parent prior to my girls going to someone's home or a "party"..there seems to be a lot of highschool parties around here..
But I got a bit lax unfortunately and the girls had 2 other girlfriends over to go to a party Friday nite,
I dropped the girls off around 8 or so and eac h have their cell phone and know to call any time they are uncomfortable or need a ride..and never take a ride without my consent.
As this turned out these boys that planned the party, were at their grandparents house and did it without their knowledge as they were not home!
I got a call from this grandmother who was highly "ticked" off and telling me she was calling the police and kicked the girls out..Now this is out in the country and very dark and this woman kicked these 15 year old girls out in the dark and told them to just "get out"
I can understand the woman being angry, heck I would be too..but not at the other kids, at my own!
In my mind this was a very dangerous thing to do to these girls, GOD knows anything could have happened to them, the woman didn't even give me time to get out to this place..What do you folks think..I'm pretty upset that an adult would treat kids this way and put them into this type of danger..I would have called the parents and the kids would have waited in my home to be picked up by a parent..
