Most people from Clinton will already know the answers to this question, but I can provide some for those who are less familiar with Clinton schools. The Clinton Public School District is a little uncommon in the way it's structured. We have one Kindergarten & 1st grade school (Clinton Park Elementary), one 2nd & 3rd grade school (Northside Elementary), one 4th & 5th grade school (Eastside Elementary), one 6th grade school (Lovett Elementary), one 7th & 8th grade school (Clinton Junior High), one 9th grade school (Sumner Hill Junior High), and one 10th-12th grade school (Clinton High School). This allows each school to better target its curriculum and activities toward specific ages of children. All of our schools are highly- rated academically. And, parent involvement is strong. My family has been pleased with Clinton's schools so far.
There are many community-based extracurricular activities available (i.e. sports, dance, scouting, churches, etc.), so these are limited in the younger grades through the schools. More activities are available in upper grades through the schools.
I'd recommend our school district to anyone considering a move to the Jackson metropolitan area.
