My son attends Jefferson Elementary in Sterling Heights. We love the school because it has very good, caring teachers, staff and administrators.
The principal is everywhere. She gets to know many of the students. She gets very involved with the whole school.
The teachers are very open to advice, opinion, and any suggestions you may have. They encourage you helping out any time you can in the classroom or anywhere in school. When your child sees you care about him being in school, he cares more too.
Like, most PTO's we have problems getting enough volunteers, but we are still working at it. We want more dads and guys to help out. The parent-teacher organization is not just for moms anymore. It is for any guardian, grandparent, relative or friend of a Jefferson student who wants to offer a little bit of help to our school and its students.
After all, if we all work together, we can do great things.
