Thank you. I actually have done some more exploring and have applied for financial aid and of course I still have to go through the admissions process, so I hope for the best. I do want the best for my child, education is top priority.
Yes. All Lower Schoolers take French, and then in either 5th or 6th grade, students switch to Spanish.
Regarding tuition, I know last Fall they offered a special discount tuition rate for new students in their first year. It's possible they are still offering it. Beyond that, I think many families take advantage of financial aid scholarship money that is available.
We've been extremely happy with the Valley School. Valley is Genesee County's only independent, college preparatory school and it's been around for almost 40 years. It's very small, but that's a tremendous benefit, particularly for elementary-aged kids. Kids are able to progress at their own rate and are exposed to kids at all age levels (K-12) through planned school activities. This has been great for my kids in learning how to relate to people of all ages. My kids are confident, self-assured students who have surpassed our expectations academically, and I give the school credit for fostering their success. Valley's a family. Definitely would recommend that you check it out.
As far as I'm concerned, none. I have high expectations and believe that Flint schools need to be improved. The schools in this area are not equal to surrounding areas.
