How does it "work"?! We have one very small middle and high school. The average grade has about 60 students. The average class size is about 18 students. My son's Latin class had 8 students. How does it work? Very, very well!!!! :-)

First and foremost: Yes,your child IS wonderful and advanced...and so are a LOT of other Lenox students! Nearly every child comes from a home where they have been nurtured and read aloud to, so all hit the ground running as soon as they enter school. Nearly all parents are on the same page and regard education as the highest priority. If you are a parent who believes sports are more important than academics, prepare to feel very, very alone. Expect your child to have an arduous workload, but LET THEM HANDLE IT! Anytime a parent swoops in and does a child's work here, it is painfully obvious. Also, neurotic "You must get all A's!" parents are regarded as ridiculous. While in a larger school, your child might be in the top 10%, because of the calibre of student here, your student may only be in the top 50%. BUT, please realize that the "best" colleges are well aware of this skewed statistic and take it into account when evaluating applications from Lenox students.

If you stay out of the way and ground your helicopter tendancies, your child will thrive beautifully....and will become a remarkably well-educated individual who will make you very, very proud.
