Riderwood Elementary has probably the best reputation among elementary schools in the Towson area. It definitely lacks diversity, feeding from an area that is almost 100% upper middle class and white, but it is an exceptional school with great parental involvement. The other schools in the area are great as well though, just stick to the schools feeding from Towson north to the PA line. Head east or west of Towson, and the schools go downhill fast. Good high schools to consider: Towson High, Carver Arts and Tech Magnet, Dulaney High, and Hereford High are all great. Middle schools: Dumbarton Middle and Ridgely Middle are both great. Cockeysville Middle is ok, but does have some new section 8 housing in that area which has brought that school down a little bit. As for elementary schools, the other schools in the area: Rodgers Forge, Stoneleigh, Lutherville, Pinewood, and Hampton Elementary are also all some of the best in the county, just stay away from the ones in the loch raven area(just east of Towson), like Pleansant Plains Elementary and Carney Elementary, they have gone downhill in recent years and have become some of the lower performing schools in Baltimore county. Hope this helps.
