We moved to fort polk in January 2009, and moved our daughter into Leesville High School from schools in the NE Oklahoma area. Leesville has been an extreme disappointment. They are more than a year behind where she was in her other school academically. They have poor academic standards and poor extracurricular activities by comparison. The only thing they are concerned about is a dress code. They call it a "uniform" but its basically color coordination. They are obsessed with making sure kids t-shirts aren't showing under their collars, that their belts and socks are the right color, that their hair rubber bands are the right color and so on. I seriously feel that they should spend more energy on teaching and educating and less emphasis on whether the kid's socks are the right color or whether the socks have stripes.
