My daughter was going to Yorktown and now she is in Storer. I had several problems with staff and teachers at Yorktown. They were rude and cocky. Since she has been in Storer, almost two months now, I have met several of her teachers, office staff, all of which are very nice, caring, and want to communicate with us as parents. The teacher has a lot of homework activities that involve us. I like that a lot because it is quality time that we need with our children. She brings home a hardback story book once a week, that she is supposed to read one story out of it to us and return it to school the next day. I just love Storer elementary school so much. The teacher sends home a weekly news letter that informs us of the agenda, activities during and after school, spelling words, and just general notes to parents. The school sends home a monthly news letter that is basically the same idea. they have PTO meetings once a month. They have movie night at the school often that costs $5 that covers pizza and drinks and the movie. if I missed anything, please let me know :) But I think I covered a lot! hope this helps you out.
