Elementary schools in district 45 have a kindergarten round-up in February or March. An ad is placed in the local paper and flyers put up in the local preschools advertising the day. What is sometimes unclear is that you need to turn-in your pre-registration packet on that day. So if you will have a new kindergartener or a transfer student, be sure to call the school and request a packet in January. The rest of the registration requirements are due in August a couple of weeks before school. Class sizes, bus schedules, and teacher assignments are determined in the days just before school to accomodate late registrants.
