Well I'm sure you've realized how many there are all over Belleville, and to me it was extremely overwhelming. I started by pulling the phone book out and chose about 20, I called each and every one of them. I set up an appt to go in and tour (I suggest going around lunch time, it seems to be craziest then) I tried to pick a time that would craziest for each one, to see how the teachers keep the children calm, if there is yelling involved, how children are corrected, etc. My son at the time was 3, so I brought him with me, his opinion counts too! Initially I was able to rule some of the school just over the phone, based on price, how i was spoken too etc. At one point my son and I walked into the school and he immediately grabbed my leg and said i wanna go bye bye, that definitely was a no! After looking at a few I found the perfect one, I walked in, the kids were having fun, everyone greeted myself and my son. my son didn't want to leave. Long story short, make enough time to go and look at a few of them, talk to them, and trust your instincts. Don't ever be afraid even after enrollment to switch daycare if it isn't the right one after all!
