Ala Wai Elementary on Hihiwai Street. It is an awarding winning school that actively goes after grants to be able to do more for the students. The Principal Charlotte Unni is a wonderful person and leader of the school. She has to balance the needs of the children against the Bureaucracy that provides services for the schools. It is not an easy job and takes a special kind of person to accomplish it. Charlotte is that very capable type of person.
It depends on your location... Military kids transition great at schools that are around the Military bases and are highly military populated. They have great programs in place for kids transitioning in and out of the schools. Ewa Beach and Kapolei have a good reputation. A lot of the Private Schools are sought out in Hawaii. Great reputation on private schools here in Hawaii!!!
