I have a high schooler in Orange Park, FL. Here's my thoughts...
Fleming Island High is great. It's a large school and can be intimidating to new students, but they have an excellent guidance program so that the students dont get lost in the crowd and they help to make sure students are taking the proper classes instead of taking 6 Physical Education classes. The teachers are good, with probably a few exceptions. They have an excellent sports program and the security changes they implemented this year are very good as well. There are lots of extra curricular after school activities for your high schooler to be involved in. They still have all the normal high school problems like fights, drugs and alcohol, but compared to the other schools, I'm sure it's probably a little less of an issues there because you have parents who are involved more there than other schools.
I've been very pleased overall.
