What's a great elementary school in Jacksonville? What makes it great?

The two schools I mention early on the forum was Garden City elem.my two children attended this school and I do know as a parent this school has wonderful teachers and a excellent staff.my children are 20 and 15 years old and every since I've known and been going to this school I have been treated with the most respect by all of the staff.this school love kids and will treat them right and the parents.

I guess that the answer lies in what you are looking for. My favorite is West Riverside Elementary. The staff and facilty are the best and the students are very excited about their school. The FCAT scores are low, however, WRES has ESOL and ESE classes and the parent volunteers are above par. The school has a rich history, located in the Historical District of Riverside. The doors have been open for the past 98 years. I recommens that every care-giver, whether being a parent or guardian, should research all the schools and visit the duval county school districts web site at www.duvalschools.org where they can search and be directed to the school's web-sites.
