Public schools are generally very poor, save for one excellent (IBayview) and one outstanding (Virginia Shuman Young) elementary school. For middle and high schools, forget it - the public ones are horrendous.

The private schools vary. University School (which is actually in Davie) has solid academics and excellent college placement. TUniversity also has exceptionally well-qualified faculty Pine Crest rests on its laurels and exclusitivity. College placement there is suffering and many parents have been dissatisfied and moved their kids elsewhere. The school is more of a social network for well-to-do and social climber parents. Staff and teacher attitudes are presumptuous and dismissive.
