My eldest son goes to Monarch High School. while the curriculum and teachers best suit his needs and College Prep plan, we have found that the reading curriculum is not up to par. Each year that my son has been there, his FCAT scores in reading go down. So intead of his reading classes helping him, they are doing more harm instead. This year I requested a new Reading Teacher and plan to have a parent teacher conference to go over his prior years FCATS and create a game plan to get his grades up. My son is also part of the JROTC program and is doing well. The program helped him come out of his shell and become more social and outgoing. He has become a better leader and more responsible.
Monarch still outranks Coconut Creek high school by far in every, and I mean EVERY, area. Their grades, the crime, etc speaks for itself for CCHS.
i am very thankful that my son was able to go to Monarch.
