How would you rate the transition from one high school to another high school in different states as far as transferring credits and adapting to new teachers?
My son, Sydney would like to attend Durango High School his Senior year. He is currently taking honors classes and the following semester he will take AP classes. How does Durango High School compare to Ironwood High School in the Peoria School District in Arizona for academics and sports? What percentage of student are ready for college and plan to further their education? Currently, he is projected to take state in the 5A II division for his 50 freestyle and is an up and coming swimmer for his 100 butterfly. He also runs track. Does Durango have a competitive swim team? Is there a club swim team in Durango, and are the coaches as knowledgeable about the sport of swim as the coaches here in sunny Arizona? He is also going to apply for a Navy Scholarship his Senior year. Are the counselors and school helpful when applying for these types of programs? How do the teachers respond to the students when asking for extra help? Is it an equal opportunity school for all students of all races? Thank you for your input.
