I spoke with parents I met at grocery stores.., parks ..wherever I had contact with parents of the same age child as mine. Went to the school district compared schools and spoke with parents whose children were in attendance of the school I have chosen. And of course the old "gut" feeling from the school atmosphere, staff/teachers and from the children themselves. I hope that answers your question. I actually started looking into schools when my son was 3 years old.
