I strongly recommend White Pony in Lafayette. I know you asked for Walnut Creek, but White Pony is an extraordinary preschool and I would urge you to take a tour. They do not advertise. It is all word of mouth. We loved it so much we kept our daughter there for elementary school as well. White Pony is at 999 Leland Drive in Lafayette. Their website is www.meherschools.org/ It has the most loving and wonderful teachers. They have nearly all been there a very long time. There is little turnover. They are all interesting people who have had other careers before and then went to teach here. White Pony has a strong arts focus (as does the elementary school) as well. It is a very very special place.
My daughter went to Trinity Lutheran Preschool in Walnut Creek. We had a great experience at this preschool, I cannot find enough good things to say about it. We had a negative experience at a different preschool and my daughter was really disinterested in school as a result. I moved her over to Trinity and within weeks she had a complete change of heart. She is now in the first grade and loves school. I have the caring staff at Trinity to thank for this. They treat all of the kids who attend in such a caring and supportive way. The kids learn in a fun, hands-on way, and the learning is never forced. The children enjoy every bit of it. It shows in the environment, I would highly recommend visiting to see for yourself.
