I agree with PatMcGill according to API scores and CTS West part of Torrance got the best school both Middle and High School. South and North did pretty good too but West is more better.

The SW part of Torrance has great schools, however if you look at the 2009 CST scores arguably the best schools are in the West not S/W portion of Torrance. West High was slightly higher than South. Bert Lynn (West part of Torrance) was the highest scoring middle school and Victor Elementary did great as well. Victor scored came in as the 3rd best elemetary, by on a few points 2-3, but is much more diverse which is a very big plus in many people's minds.

Torrance has a good school district. The schools in the SW parts of Torrance are the best. Palos Verdes and Walteria schools are EXCELLENT... they offer great programs for student to encourage them to learn and grow.
