Private schools are usually smaller and limit the number of potential friends your child can make. My son insisted the worst kids were sent to private schools to straighten them out. If it isn't run with a high degree of integrity your child can suffer at the hands of sub-par teachers. The class sizes were smaller, but not by much. My child was behind in math and science when he transferred from a private grade school to a public middle school. Public school gave him an opportunity to make more friends that shared his interests. He was able to learn to play the violin. I also think most of the teacher try harder. You don't always get what you pay for!
