I made a list of the preschools in my area. I visited each one on my list with my child to get his feedback and make him a part of the process. When the choices were narrowed down to three preschools, I made a appointment with the licensing department and read about any complaints or suspensions the preschool had received. (Three schools was the maximum number of schools you can investigate at one appointment. It takes about an hour to read each school's file. I did not bring your child to this appointment.) I made my final decision based on the files I read. I took my son to revisit the chosen preschool so he knew which one his would be attending. On his first day, he was excited and happy to go to the new preschool because he had seen it and knew what to expect.
