No you do NOT need immunizations as they want you to believe!!! All you have to do is fill out a blue waiver form if you don't believe in immunizations. You might get a public health nurse from the County call you but so what? It is MISINFORMATION to compell you to comply with the immunizations requirmement.

You have the following options. 1. Attend the local school that your address is assigned to. 2. Send in a Choice application for a school that is outside your boundry. 3.Participate in the VEEP system (your kid takes a free bus to a different part of town) 4. Apply to a Magnet School through the choice program.( your kid can take a free bus if you live far from the school) 5. Apply directly to a charter school in the district.
The dealine is comming up, so it's best to cover your bases if you are thinking about the choice option. You can decline a school later of you change your mind.

If you want your kid to go to a school other than your neighborhood school, be sure to apply for the lotteries by the deadline.

You can also enroll your kid into other district school by applying inter district transfer.

Check this website sandi.net/enrollmentoptions/oeochoice.html for information about choicing into a school. It's a great opportunity to have a hand in where your child can go to school. The deadline for choice application is Feb 15. Plenty of time to research and tour a couple schools.

Enrollment instructions and forms are available online on www.sandi.net (SDUSD website). There is also a boundry lookup to see which school you would attend based on your address. There are links to the individual schools too. Good luck!
