I've been in research too for the last 2 years when we were moving. I've researched far and beyond what Great schools can show me. I wanted to be in the area of the best school and district as well for my son who is in Kinder this SY.
There's only one school district in Rowland Heights - Rowland Unified School District. Blandford, Oswalt, and Killian are one of the best by far. The only elementary schools recommended for high aiming students. They are highly academic and very social as well. As to middle schools, all three are great. And Rowland Heights Highschool has earned a better rating and student overall outcome so far. No offense to other schools...this is what the rating has shown, and students' performance outcome when tested together with similar schools.
You can refer to great schools' site when researching and comparing between districts and schools. They are very reliable and easy.
Around Rowland Hts, Hacienda-LaPuente Unified, Walnut Unified, West Covina Unified, and the one at Diamond Bar, whose school district name I can't remember...Chino Valley Unified?...not sure.
